Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 May 2026
Welcome to FestiQuest. By using the app or website you agree to these terms of service. Please read them — they protect you and us.
1. Who we are
FestiQuest is provided by:
The FestiQuest team — based in the Netherlands Contact: via our contact form Website: https://festiquest.app
In these terms we refer to ourselves as “we”, “us” or “FestiQuest”. We refer to you as the user as “you”.
2. What FestiQuest is
FestiQuest is a social platform that lets festival visitors organise small activities (“sidequests”), join them, and communicate about them via a group chat. Purpose: connecting solo visitors or small groups with other festival-goers to do fun things together.
Important to understand:
- We do not organise festivals, events, or activities ourselves
- We only facilitate the online connection between people
- What happens offline (at the festival) is the responsibility of the participants themselves
- We are not a party to any arrangements or agreements between users
3. Acceptance and changes
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms from time to time. We announce material changes in the app or by email. If you do not agree, you can cancel your account. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
4. Age requirement: 18 and over
FestiQuest is an 18+ platform. By creating an account you confirm that:
- You are 18 years or older
- The date of birth you enter is accurate and truthful
- You are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement
If we discover that you are under 18, we will close your account immediately and delete your data. Misrepresentation on this point is grounds for immediate termination without warning.
5. Your account
5.1 Sign-up
You create an account via Google Sign In, Apple Sign In, or (later) Meta. You provide at least your first name, date of birth, city, and email.
5.2 You are responsible for your account
- Provide accurate and current information
- Keep your login credentials secure (do not share with others)
- Notify us immediately if you suspect someone else has access to your account
- One account per person. No fake accounts, no multiple accounts to circumvent rules
5.3 Profile information
What you put in your profile (photo, bio, socials, city) is visible to other logged-in FestiQuest users. Do not put anything in there you do not want to share publicly. No contact details of others, no harmful content about third parties.
6. Rules of conduct
We want FestiQuest to be a fun, safe place. Clear rules apply. The following is prohibited:
6.1 Against other users
- No harassment, bullying, stalking or threats of other users

6.2 Concerning minors
- Absolute zero tolerance for content involving or targeting minors
- No sexual content featuring minors (CSAM is a criminal offence and will be reported to authorities)
- No attempts to approach minors via the platform
- Suspect a minor on the platform? Report immediately via the in-app reporting button or email our contact form
6.3 Drugs and illegal trade
- No selling, trading, or offering of drugs or other illegal substances via sidequests or chats
- No weapons trade
- No offering of or asking for any illegal service or product
- Discussing legal recreational substances is allowed, but trading is not
6.4 Spam and commercial abuse
- No commercial advertising via sidequests (so no “Come visit our booth”, no affiliate promo, no sales pitches)
- No mass mailings or repeating identical messages
- No pyramid schemes, MLM, or “investment opportunities”
- No recruiting users for other platforms, paid services, or fanbase growth
6.5 Content abuse
- No violence, gore, or shocking imagery
- No content glorifying self-harm or harm to others
- No copyright infringement (do not post others’ content without permission)
- No viruses, malware, scripts, or attempts to compromise the app
6.6 Platform abuse
- No automated bot accounts, scraping, or API abuse
- No circumventing bans, kicks, or moderation
- No exploiting bugs or security vulnerabilities (report those responsibly to our contact form instead)
- No causing disruption to other users (e.g. creating thousands of empty sidequests)
Violation of these rules can lead to a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal of your account, without refund.
7. Content you post (User-Generated Content)
7.1 What is your content
Everything you post in the app — sidequest titles, descriptions, chat messages, photos, profile fields — is your content.
7.2 You are responsible
You are fully responsible for what you post. We do not pre-screen content (only after reports). Do not post anything:
- You do not have the rights to
- That violates our rules of conduct (section 6)
- That harms or endangers others
- That violates any law or regulation
7.3 Your rights to your content
You retain ownership of your own content. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and distribute your content within FestiQuest, only to the extent necessary to provide the service. This licence ends when you delete the content (except for the legal retention periods in our privacy policy).
7.4 Our rights to your content
We may remove, moderate, or hide content if in our judgment it violates these terms or the law. We are not obligated to actively monitor all content.
8. Moderation, reporting and blocking
8.1 In-app moderation tools
In the app you can:
- Block a user — that person can then no longer see you, no longer join your sidequests, and you no longer see their content
- Report a user or message via the reporting button. Clearly indicate what is wrong.
- For hosts: kick a member from your own sidequest (that person cannot rejoin unless you reverse it)
8.2 Our moderation procedure
- We review reports within 24 hours (business days).
- For serious violations (CSAM, threats, illegal activity), we act immediately and report to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
- We may suspend or remove accounts without prior warning if the safety of others is at stake.
- For less serious violations, you first receive a warning.
8.3 Appealing a moderation decision
Think a moderation decision was wrong? Send a reasoned appeal within 14 days to our contact form. We respond within 14 days.
9. Safety at offline meetups
Important: FestiQuest facilitates meeting new people at festivals. What happens offline is your own responsibility.
We emphasise:
- Do your own due diligence before meeting someone in real life. Check the profile, verify that social handles match, and trust your gut.
- Meet in public spaces at the festival (not in private tents or off-site for a first meetup).
- Tell a friend or family member where you are and who with.
- Do not share personal data (home address, payment info, etc.) during a first meetup.
- If uncomfortable: leave the situation, use the block function, and call festival security if needed.
- For criminal offences: report to the police. We cooperate with investigations.
We do not perform identity verification or background checks on users. A filled-in Instagram handle is no guarantee that someone is who they claim to be. Use common sense.
10. Account termination
10.1 By you
You can delete your account at any time via Profile → Settings → Delete account. See our privacy policy for what happens to your data.
10.2 By us
We may suspend or remove your account if:
- You violate these terms
- We suspect involvement in illegal activities
- You turn out to be under 18
- You misuse the platform in a way that harms others
- Legal obligations require us to
For serious violations this can happen without prior warning.
10.3 Service discontinuation
We reserve the right to discontinue, modify, or shut down FestiQuest in whole or in part. On discontinuation, you get reasonable time to export your data, unless that is legally or technically not possible.
11. Disclaimer and liability
11.1 “As is” basis

11.2 What we are NOT

- We are not responsible for what users do, say, or experience offline
- We do not organise or endorse festivals or events shown in the app

- Damages from temporary unavailability of the service

In the exceptional case that we are nevertheless liable, our total liability per event (or series of related events) is limited to a maximum of EUR 100, or the amount paid out by our professional liability insurance, whichever is higher.
This limitation does not apply to damages caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or where mandatory law prescribes higher liability.

- Your posted content

We review within 14 days and remove content if appropriate.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms and the use of FestiQuest are governed by Dutch law.
Disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be submitted to the competent court in the district of Noord-Holland, unless mandatory law designates a different court (e.g. for consumers residing in another EU country).
We prefer an amicable resolution. Got a complaint? Email our contact form first.
For EU consumers: you can also use the Online Dispute Resolution platform of the European Commission: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/
14. Other provisions
14.1 Entire agreement
These terms together with the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of FestiQuest.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
14.3 No waiver
Not (immediately) enforcing a provision does not mean we waive the right to enforce it later.
14.4 Assignment
We may assign our rights and obligations under these terms to a third party (e.g. on incorporation of a B.V. or acquisition). You may not transfer your account to another person.
